Tree Charter

The Community Council has been working together with the Woodland Trust by becoming a Local Government Charter Branch.

For each signature that we collected a tree will be planted by the Woodland Trust. Our Community Councillors worked to collect signatures to support this Charter. In addition other organisations got involved and together we collected 939 signatures! At present we are the Charter Branch with the most signatures collected.

We are continuing to distribute The Woodland Trust’s Leaf Magazine within the Hirwaun and Penderyn areas.

In recognition of our work to collect signatures we were allocated two trees to plant in each village. Additionally, we received two copies of the Tree Charter whch are being displayed at Hirwaun Village Hall and Penderyn Community Centre.
