Sight Cymru Annual Conference

Cllr Richard Jones, Hirwaun and Penderyn Community Council’s Sight Awareness Champion, has attended Sight Cymru’s annual conference as a guest on the panel talking about accessible transport.
He chatted with Cllr Ann Wild, Mayor of Abergavenny Town Council and Cllr Chris Holland their Sight Awareness Champion. Abergavenny was the first town in Wales to be granted Sight Friendly Status. Cllr Jones has said that he intends to meet with Cllr Holland again and talk
about Hirwaun and Penderyn can follow the excellent work being done in Abergavenny.
Cllr Jones said “I was really pleased to be invited by Sight Cymru to attend this event and be a panellist for their discussion segment. My fellow panel members and I were asked some interesting questions on the subject of sight loss, accessibility and transport. I look forward to making progress to make our council and our two villages sight friendly."
